Why Is It Tough to Pee on Opiates. I Also Get Constipated as Well and Sometimes It Hurts to Go #2.?

Question by Brian D: why is it tough to pee on opiates. I also get constipated as well and sometimes it hurts to go #2.?
I have been taking methadones to help my withdrawal symptoms and it takes a while for my pee to come out and my bowel movements are slow and hurt in the morning. Is there anything I can take that will help this? Such as vitamins or certain foods I can eat to prevent this. I’m going to get off methadones as soon as I get better but just would like to know if anyone has the same problem and how it can be fixed. Thanks.

hard stool is a common side effect… go pick up some colace (stool softner) and take it as directed on the bottle. you’ll be ok.
