What Similarities Are Shared Between Vicodin and Heroin?

Question by momofpoophead: What similarities are shared between vicodin and heroin?
Vicodin and heroin are both opiates. I want to know what similar effects they have on the body. Also, if they are similar, how many heroin addicts realize this? why choose to do heroin instead of taking vicodin when heroin is so much more dangerous? I don’t understand it.

Vicodin is hydrocodone and heroin is diacetylmorphine. They’re both opiates, but diacetylmorphine is much stronger. Also, vicodin contains acetaminophen, so it’s actually much more dangerous to take in large quantities, as it causes liver failure.

Or if you are on heroin try getting off of it! Try prescription drugs like Methadone or Suboxone! You can die from heroin withdrawals and switching to Vicodin (which is not as potent) is not a good idea. Being addicted to Vicodin (which has Tylenol aka acetaminophen in it) is still horrible. That is an easy overdose and kill of the liver if you take over 4000mg per day (8 regular Vicodin tablets). Vicodin=Lortab just so everyone knows. Same active ingredients. Lortab 5mg=Vicodin. You seem as though you are suggesting people to get over one addiction with another addiction not monitored with the doctor and that is extremely unsafe no matter what the drug.
