it was created to get herion addicts off herion, now they are addicted to methadone.
Doctors are trying perscribe it for chronic pain, but it kills because people can’t wait for it to take affect, and take more, and then their hearts stop and they die!!

I dont know any name.But it was someone who thought they were solving a social issue that didnt think of the long term problems.I believe that the dependancy and physical adiction is worse than Heroin.The cost to supply it and run the maintanance clinics is very high.people are sometimes using it to get high instead of heroin,not as something to help wean them of of it.Many people are on it for life.so I dont see where it actually did a greater good.maybe stiffer regulations as to how long they anticipate useage should have been placed so it would actually be a solution and not a new substance addiction itself.I want to add that after reading some answers Many people arent aware of how Methodone is abused on the streets so to say.In N.Y.C. where im originally from Ive seen the abuse.My mother,my aunt and several people I know had a life long involvement with methodone.I myself had taken it a few times because it gave the same “down/mellow” felling of heroin that I sniffed for years in the past.Many people sell their “meth”as its called to people who cannot get on the “program” due to abusing it,some just like the feeling.And you can do other drugs and methodone at the same time.It intensifies the high.I speak from experience,and what I seen others do my entire life.Its sad but I come from one of the most notorious heroin distribution areas in the U.S. and I know the deal about this stuff.so unless you lived it you dont know the whole story of what really goes down.
