The Result of a Methadone Overdose?

Question by Michael B: The Result of A Methadone Overdose?
Someone I know took 4 methadone (that we know of) and some benadryl in one night, passed out and went to the hospital the following morning. They’re in a coma, on life support, with damage to kidneys, liver, and heart. Does anybody know what the outcome could/will be?

I would think the prognosis is very poor.

How well you do depends on the amount of poison swallowed and how quickly treatment is received. The faster you get medical help, the better the chance for recovery.
The most common complications are in those who did not quickly receive the antidote. Problems can include brain damage or respiratory arrest.

Symptoms of a Benadryl overdose include extreme sleepiness, confusion, weakness, ringing in the ears, blurred vision, large pupils, dry mouth, flushing, fever, shaking, insomnia, hallucinations, and possibly seizures.

The person either really meant it or he was in a very very confused state.
