i found this medication called HYDROCO/APA5-500MG in my brothers backpack i know he hasnt gone to the doctor and that is not a prescription made for him a though came to mind is he taking that to get a high? can that prescription really be used to get a high?

Yes. It’s generic for Lortab/Vicodin. Aka a narcotic. JFGI

Congrats, you found a Lortab. Essentially this is a pill with 5mg of Hydrocodone (an opioid pain killer) and 500 mg of acetaminophen (moderate pain reliever/fever reducer.) Many people use these drugs recreationally and they are often stolen from persons who had it legally prescribed to them for pain. It is a Schedule II drug which means it has accepted medical use but has a high risk of abuse and addiction. Unless he has recently had his wisdom teeth removed, this is not a good thing for him to be messing with. This comes from the same family of drugs that give us Oxycotin, Methadone, etc. Addiction to opiates is a real ball buster. Plus there is the risk of overdose. But hey, maybe he is just selling them. Who knows. But it is illegal for him to have it or ingest it unless he has a prescription.
