Honestly… and I’m sure this would be hard to do… but tell his probation officer. I’m not a big fan of the justice system, but at this point it is a matter of life or death.
Opioid (methadone, oxycodone) and sedative (xanax, soma, klonopin) mixtures are NOTORIOUSLY dangerous. There is a very real possibility of an over dose mixing these pills, and sooner or later, it will happen. I’ve had about a dozen friends wake up in the hospital from these mixtures, and a few that never woke up.
By telling his probation officer, the hope would be that he winds up in jail long enough to for him to be done withdrawing and sober long enough to hopefully get him to go into rehab or magically find it within himself to stop.
Just do SOMETHING. Your son in law will wind up dead or in prison if this does not stop. Sorry for being so blunt. Its a subject I’m quite passionate about.

You should have probably aborted the bastard, but seeing as how the time for that has passed, I’ll try to keep it to a productive answer.
Do you even like your son in law? Think hard about this one, because odds are, if he’s causing all that trouble, you’re not. Since you don’t like him, you can throw pity out the window.
What’s he on probation for? If it’s for raping or hitting a woman, you’re gonna need some help. What you essentially want to do is let him know that you’re the boss and that he has to clean up his act or else he’s history.
You’ll need a few items. Most are easily home made.
1) A handheld flamethrower. You can build one by looking up the youtube video.
2) Methamphetamines.
3) A large cage.
4) A piece of string.
5) A stick.
All you have to do is talk to him about his addiction. If he doesn’t pay attention, set a simple trap.
Leave a trail of the methamphetamines leading to the guest bedroom. Place the cage at the end of the trail, leaving it half open and wedged by the stick. Tie the piece of string to the stick.
When he comes home from his night of doping and raping, he’ll find the trail and follow it. When he’s under the cage, pull the string, leaving him trapped. Calmly light your flamethrower and torch off all of his pubic hair until he promises to clean up. If he doesn’t, start burning his testicles. If he threatens to call the police, remind him you are in control by aiming the flamethrower directly in his ear.
In the end, you will have either a dead son in law or an obedient one.
