Side effects? Respiratory arrest, coma, brain damage, death.

Methadone and oxycodone both suppress the breathing center of the central nervous system. Breathing slows and can stop. If it slows for a short time or stops for a short time, you could be okay. If it slows for a long time or stops for four minutes or more, you could die or, if not, wake or be resuscitated with brain damage varying from slight to vegetative status.

Anna Nicole Smith died from combining methadone with other painkillers and CNS depressants. Heath Ledger died from a combination of much milder drugs, all CNS depressants. Brittany Murphy had pneumonia and took strong painkillers for the pain, and died because her breathing was already compromised by the pneumonia. None of these stars wanted to die, and didn’t think what they took would hurt them. Oops.
