Methadone Clinic for Pain Managment?

Question by haha1000: Methadone clinic for pain managment?
I am wondernig…….what would happen if I was forced to come off of Suboxone. I would go to a Methadone clinic. Would I be allowed to switch over from Suboxone to Methadone? Is the dosage of Methadone high enough to work to help with pain management? Do some people stay on Methadone forever? I am scared that if I’m taken off of Suboxone I might relapse. Id rather relapse on Methadone or Suboxone than hard drugs or percocet. So if any one knows these answers I’d appreciate it

After a while..do they let you take home your doses?

Methadone clinics do not accept pain patients. They are for addicts.

You are worrying about something that doesn’t even exist.

It really sounds like you want to stay on opiates forever and you are looking for an excuse or an avenue to do so.

Why not get clean? Any good back doctor will tell you pain meds are not the way to go with back pain. why, because you are liable to hurt your back even worse if you don;t feel the pain. Also there are numerous ways to deal with back pain….almost everyone has back pain from time to time, and almost all adults have bulging discs. There are cortisone injections, electric shock treatments (tens unit), chiropractor, acupuncture and a whole lot of other treatments that work better than pain meds.

have you ever seen anyone who has been on pain meds for 10-20 years? it is not a pretty sight. Their lives are usually full of drama and nonsense…what little lives they have.

Suboxone could be causing your pain to be worse too. It is known to cause a lot of tension, and tension is known to trigger back pain. Do you have a regular exercise routine? If not you should. Are you doing specific exercises to strengthen your back, or are you sitting at a computer and TV all day?

It is a lot of work to get clean, and much easier to roll over play dead and keep taking pills…but if you want a better life, getting off these drugs is what you need to do.

The 2 absolute worst opiates you could be on are methadone and suboxone, because they are both long acting opioid that will mess your brain chemistry up bad…and i’m guessing your brain chemistry is already a mess.

I know you don’t want to Relapse. Methadone would help you. If you are at a clinic and clean from other drugs they will give you take homes. Methadone has a tendency to take a LONG time to get off of. Some people say methadone works wonders for pain. It is a big decision…do your research.
