Question by inmatters: I have methadone and clonipin to use for pain in my fractured neck how much of each is safe to take?
I understand that because these came from 2 doctors I should be careful but that the effect of the 2 together can be simalar to using heroin which I have never done but I am in crazy pain so I don’t want to OD on thaksgiving so what’s the limit I have 10 mg metadone and I am taking 90mg perday and the clonipin is one or 2 at night

Clonipin is a nerve medication and it’s not too strong. However, due to the methadone I REALLY wouldn’t take too much of it. It really all depends on your tolerance to opiates. You have to figure that methadone was designed for heroin addicts to get clean so because of that it’s designed for people with a high tolerance to opiates. A lot of people have been overdosing on methadone for that very reason.
So the answer to your question is very broad. There really isn’t any set limit. Some people can take 100mg of methadone and die, and others could well beyond that and be fine. Like I said, it’s all going to depend on your tolerance to opiates.
If I were you I’d try to get something different than Methadone. It’s dangerous as hell so taking more than you’re supposed to can kill you. If he’d given you Percocet or Roxycet it would be fine to take an extra one here or there, but Methadone is just too risky IMO.
BTW, I am no doctor or anything but I’ve battled an addiction to pain killers for about 5 years or so. And for the record, I’d take extra Oxycontin before I’d do it with Methadone. I’ve seen it kill far too many people. I’d normally say not to worry about the Clonipin but I’m not sure how it reacts with the Methadone.
