My cousin and his girlfriend have been using Heroin for a few months now. They have used up all of their resources for money and are now going to a Methadone clinic. They have no jobs, no money and in the middle of this are very small children. Apparently these two boneheads are using child support payments for the one child to pay for their Methadone at the clinic. They are living with my aunt – who is at her wits end with this situation and she is going to throw them out. They do not want to go to rehab and have no intention of bettering themselves or trying to support their children. Now they will have no place to live. Is this enough for child services to get involved? We are worried for everyone involved – but mainly the children….

yes, this is more than enough for child services to be involved. however, if you’re not willing to take the children yourself, be aware that they may end up in foster care.

Yes, child services can and will step in. This is probably best for the children. No child deserves to have to live through that. but as the prior response said, they can be put in foster care if a family member is unable to care for the children.
