The minimum time methadone lasts is 6 hours, but most docs will tell you around 8-12 hours. The real question is how much is the total daily dosage of methadone will you take, as one methadone is really useless if you are taking hydrocodone 5 x day. methadone should be given 2-3 times a day and yes, it will cover you pain, just don’t double up on it like you would with hydrocondone.

ok here is something to think about from a recovering addict.
Methadone is the most dangerous and addictive substance known to man.Please don’t start taking it.Once you get that first high you will never stop and you won’t stop chasing that high and you will end up taking more and more.It also takes the longest to detox from because the drug stores inside of your bones not the muscles like other opiates.
It takes months to detox.Detox from opiates is the worst experience you will ever have in your entire life.don’t go down that road.
