Basicly due to self choice and some finacial probs, My mother is going to end her methadone this friday. She has xanexx to take along with some pain pills to help with the withdrawls.But can u tell me whats to be expected. We do know that she could do this from rehab but no insurance to cover it. And the clinc that she was in is a total ass and will not withdrawl her (which is VERY wrong). So can u tell me whats to be expected and how long it will last….. thank u

I cant imagine why they wouldnt wean her off. If worse comes to worse, there is a detox in most hospitals I believe.

Well, I hate to tell you this, but I knew two people that within days of being off of methadone, they went back to their pre-methadone ways. One person ended up in jail for assault and theft. The other stole my Rickenbacker 330 (guitar), my DVD collection, and all of my XBOX stuff. She also stole her brother’s credit card and turned to prostitution.
I hope this is not the case for your mother. You need to be with her pretty much 24-7.
