In other words, can you treat someone with an addiction by treating them with other drugs. Is there scientific evidence for it.

Yes. They give Methadone for Heroin addiction and they give (I forgot) for alcohol addiction.

alcoholics get benzos
people addicted to the h get methadone or subox
think of it like this..if you are addicted to the punjabi of girl A but she no longer likes you, you might “wean” yourself off of her by engaging in activities with girl B…
now do I think that treating drug addiction with drugs is proper? probably not, but I am no doctor, but then again I am not pushing SSRIs on people so that I can get a new boat, nor would oh so..to each his own.
