methadone is given to heroin addicts to get off heroin .It is also addictive.This sounds like a weird treatment to me but your Doctor(a Doctor is involved,I presume?)would know best.

Methadone, is given to anyone that has an opium based dependency, Excluding xanax.. Moreover given by methadone clinics for oxy cotten addictions and other opium based. If you were to mix the two the only things you would have to worry about are
1 an overdose if the levels are high enough and…
2 A failed drug test, If that is an issue
