Question by marie: Heroin addict in need of some help someone who has used methadone before please?
I started withdrawls and could not help but to take my methadone for the first time since prescribed it.
I was always scared of the methadone withdrawls since I. Heard they were longer and worse to kick than heroins withdrawls. When I started heroin I would smoke 3-4 grams a day. I had the money to do so so I felt like I had the right to. Now that times have changed and heroin has completely ruined my life I can sometimes be lucky to come up with $ 100 and buy myself a gram and have a good day. Most times I can get anywhere from $ 20-$ 60 worth of heroin. So let’s say a range from .2-.6 of heroin a day. Is taking 50 mg of methadone too much for my first time?
Please serious answers seeing as how I already took the 5 pills of 10 mg methadone.

More Methadone Overdose Painful Information…

Question by jessica: What do you think about using methadone for opiate addiction?
It works wonderfully for my herion addiction and I don’t want to go off of it since I know I’d immediately start using again. So many people consider it a “heroin substitute”. However, I DO NOT get high on it and it is medically controlled so when taken correctly, there is little risk of an overdose. Not to mention all the awful things that go along with heroin addiction like the risk of contaminated needles, drugs laced with deadly substances, doing illegal things to get your “fix”, and the fact that you will eventually end up dead or in prison. The problem is that I still have problems with alcohol and cocaine and methadone DOESN’T help with those addictions. I want to get help for all my substance problems but almost all rehabs are VERY AGAINST Methadone. I don’t want to be on Methadone the rest of my life. I will eventually wean myself off (VERY SLOWLY) so that I don’t get sick (it is addictive like heroin). Any thoughts about this? Please be kind. This is rough!    Read more...
