OKay i used to be addicted to heroin been clean for 3 years with the help of methadone maintenance. I have never had an issue with benzos just heroin. ive always had some depression and anxiaty but left it untreated. Now i have a 6month old baby and i am worrying A LOT! Making myself sick with worry and i have a fear of bad things happening to my loved ones as far as them being murdered car wrecks, ect. When i was young i was a hyperchondriac i thought i had diseases and lice and weird stuff like that. I am still like that to this day. Everything has gotwen worse sincew i was pregnant and had my baby though.
Anyways I am seeing a therapist and he is going to have me see the doctor for meds. Is it true that they may not give me anti anxiety meds because i was addicted to heroin? I am confident that i will not get addicted off of a half miligram of ativan as needed. I dont want to take something 3 times a day everyday, i just want something to calm me when i need to be calmed…I have been open with my therapist about my addiction.

I have never heard of the suboxone, but I used to take methadone because some stupid dr. told me it was cheaper and less harmful then the others on my liver.
The shit nearly killed me when I chose to stop taking it. The dr. later told me (after 3 lousy weeks of detox) that it is worse then getting of crack cocaine. Please, do some research…Methadone is great for pain until you come off of it. It was a nightmare.
