Can You Take Anything to Ease Withdrawal From Suboxone?
Question by ashcad124: Can you take anything to ease withdrawal from suboxone?
My boyfriend has been on suboxone since June, for methadone dependency. We cannot afford the $ 800.00 a month bill anymore so he has been easing himself off, and has gotten down from 32mg a day to 2mg a day. He has went 2 days and was going through so much pain he took 2 mg’s again. I thought muscle relaxers may help but he has no health insurance so no prescription. Is there anything else he can take to ease the withdrawal pains in his feet and legs? I don’t know what to do for him.

alcohol would probably help with the pain but is not very healthy. Same goes for marijuana.
I would say nothing really but to create new habits to do that are not harmful
like drinking water or chewing gum

2 mg’s is too high a dose to jump from. He should taper down to at least 0.5 or 0.25 mg before jumping, and even that will be rough. He only would need a few 8 mg pills to accomplish this over the period of about a month
The best thing to alleviate restless legs is a benzo, like valium, xanax, ativan, etc.
