BUPROPION SR 100mg for ADHD Normal Side Effects?

Question by : BUPROPION SR 100mg FOR ADHD Normal side effects?
I started taking bupropion sr 100mg 6 days ago every morning. It was prescribed to me for my adhd because I cant take concerta or ritalin. Im a 21 yr old mother also on MMT (Methadone Maintenance Treatment) as a recovering addict. My child is now over a year old and I have been doing very well other than the ADHD which interferes a lot of my life. anyways, since I started taking the drug 6 days ago I have been overwhelmed by feelings of sadness I cant understand. Im also more anxious than I ever was. Im scared and want to stop taking it but at the same time feel it could possibly change my life if these feelings subside and it starts working… I havent really noticed it working but my dr. told me 4-6 for a fair trial.

Hi Jess. About 5 months ago I also started taking Buprpion. But I take it for anxiety and depression. I take 300mg a day.. The first week, I cried ALL the time! I would have an overwhelming feeling of dread every time i would leave my house (like I was going to get in a horrible accident and die or something) I had constant head aches, anxiety attacks that almost made it impossible to get through the day at work, and blurred vision…
For the life of me, I couldn’t understand why my doctor would prescribe a person who suffers from anxiety and depression a medication that make it so wretchedly worse. I went on alot of blogs about the drug and found it to be very common. However, the good news is, it only lasts about a week and a half to 2 weeks. So if you can make it through till about 2 weeks, you should notice a signification difference. I called my dr at the week and a half mark, because i genuinely felt like i was going crazy. He told me to give it another couple of days. Luckily it got better for me. I read of alot of people taking themselves off the Bupropion before 2 weeks, because the side effects are so rough.
Good luck! Try and stick it out. It will get better soon.
