Methadone will show up as methadone in a drug test; nothing else. Because it is an opiate agonist, it won’t come up for opiates per say; and generally, only a very detailed test will even test for it’s Presence. If you have a prescription for it, then you’ve got nothing ot worry about; just show the clinic that you get tested at your bottles; an employer cannot refuse hiring on the basis of methadone alone; since it is seen as a recovery program.
Methadone stays in the system for a good while- depending entirely on how long and how much you’ve been consuming; so while there’s no possible answer without knowing the details, rest assured it will be there for at least 2 weeks at minimum; most likely longer.
If you don’t have a prescription for methadone and you’re buying.taking it illegally, stop. It’s a potent and strong drug that has the potential to cause overdoses very easily in those with out an opiate addiction/tolerance; particularly if you’re mixing it with some thing. On top of that, the past several years have seen a severe crackdown on methadone, due to it’s popularity rise as a recreational drug~ which in turn creates stigma, problems and restrictions on the drug for those of us who actually need it because we’re trying to stay clean.
If you’re using it recreationally, then 1) you might as well get on a program and you can get it daily, without a hassle- and 2) you’re not the smartest cookie in the box, since methadone is time released, nd won’t get you high. It works in a way that helps opiate addicts maintain their physical well being, without creating a rush or buzz that gets you high.
If you need help, look up your county’s board of alcohol and drug abuse offices and ask them about getting in for an assessment. There’s funding available for those with low income in most places~ and if you’re having a hard time finding funding, then please take that to heart, and let it further cement what i’ve told you~ because it is a direct correlation to the negative press it’s getting as a result of people abusing it instead of using it properly.
