What Can Methadone Patients Take for Pain?
Question by bionicchicka: What can methadone patients take for pain?
I am on methadone maintenance aka mmr and I have gallstones. I went to the ER twice and both times as soon as they found out I was on methadone, it was like I had a contagious terminal illness. I haven’t yet received the proper care and I am in terrible pain. I need something to take for pain. Can anyone help me with the names of medications that will help me until my appointment with the surgery clinic. I AM MISERABLE!!!!

you can only take over the counter medications until you get a prescription from a medical doctor. Advil liquid capsules work very quickly on pain. I do not know if it will help what you are going through.
what I do know is when you’re having a gallbladder attack eat only fruit, so that you give the gallbladder A rest. do this for three days and afterwards do not eat any fried foods, fatty foods, or spicy foods. Stick to a low fat diet.
I hope you’re able to get the proper medication soon.

Billie is right. Advil Liquigels are great. To give you something stronger would support your addiction. Do you plan to have surgery? Soon, I would hope.
