Sorry for the caps lock, but it’s very necessary. If you combine even a relatively small amount of alcohol with methadone your respiratory system will stop functioning, and when you fall asleep you will stop breathing and die.
Never, ever combine alcohol and methadone. If you’re getting methadone legally this message should have been drilled into you.

Do not drink alcohol while you are taking methadone. Dangerous side effects or death can occur when alcohol is combined with methadone. Check your food and medicine labels to be sure these products do not contain alcohol.
