There are many different medications for the harm reduction model for opiate addiction. Some of them work better on certain groups than others. For instance methadone tends to work well on heroin, I.V., and long term people that are addicted. Suboxone tends to work well for short term and pill users. Suboxone does have a ceiling affect where more would not do anything more for the patient. It is much safer though. I hope this sheds some light!
