My wife was given 4mg of dilaudid every 2 hours and 40 mg of methadone 4 times a day. I read a question that said that they only give dilaudid to cancer patient that have only 6 mos to a yr to live???????????

Dilaudid is stronger than morphine and is given to patients other than cancer patients. Usually it is given when morphine hasn’t helped.

No. My wife was taking oxycodone,but now there seems to be a shortage so her Doctor has taking her off the oxycodone and put her on dilaudid.
