My prescription always has “caution- sedation” on it.
I have never been given a script that has a particular side effect written on it by hand.

You wouldn’t. It’s the pharmacists job to put the warnings on the prescription bottles. You should have already discussed with your doctor the side effects of any medication he/she is putting you on.

Initially almost everyone is sedated to some degree. Some people, however are stimulated and can’t sleep. Constipation and itchiness are also common. Urinary retention can also happen. You might try a half dose the first time you take it. Be sure not to drive or operate heavy machinery or be in charge of small children the first time you try it.
