Is It Really That Hard to Stop Taking Drugs?

Question by cheshirecatfreak: Is it really that hard to stop taking drugs?
Honestly, right now I’m more like “Well, it’s for people who have serious issues and/or no self-discipline”. But maybe I’m wrong??? Is it really that hard to become/stay clean, and so tempting that some people won’t even stop at hurting themselves and their family and even their unborn children (think Anna Nicole Smith who took Methadone in pregnancy, and others who even take heroine etc.) just to continue taking them??
Have I been judging too harshly so far? I just can’t imagine any of that stuff… Any opinions?
