Hypothetical question: if someone is being treated for opiate addiction and he’s taking methadone, will a drug test show that he is “using”? I know most drug tests don’t really differentiate and the result would show up as positive even though you’re trying to get off it.
My question is: how long does methadone show up in your urine / blood after you last used it?

Methadone does not show up on regular drug tests. There has to be a special test done for methadone detection.
The half-life of methadone is 72 hours. Add a day or two for metabolism and traces. Hope this helps.
