I am taking methadone and lately in the summer my legs swell and retain water. though my left ankel that i just had a tatoo done on swells much more. why and is there something wrong with my thyroid or what?

No, your legs are retaining water. It is prob due to the methadone. the tatoo leg may swell more because the skin can’t stretch there and it overflows to the rest of your ankle.

Question by Skye: Can anyone who knows about bipolar disorder and treatments answer a few questions?
I’m 35 and have suffered from what I thought was mainly severe depression and anxiety from around age 8 or 9. I also am a drug addict and alcoholic in recovery. A psychiatrist prescribed me 300 mg. of Lithium 2 X a day and 100 mg. of Zoloft 1X a day. Doesn’t that seem like a lot? I’m scared to try them. I’m afraid of how it’ll make me feel. Will it be noticeable the day I take them or will I have to wait a few weeks when the drugs start building up in my system? And do you know why they need to do blood tests? I’m also on Methadone, could the combination of the drugs be dangerous? I can’t stop taking Methadone as it working very well for a serious opiate addiction.
