I’m a 911 operator and I’ve taken 3 calls in the past month of people overdosing on Methadone. It’s apparently the drug of choice around here right now. But what is it? Is it like a narcotic pain relief med or something? I know the overdose symptoms sound pretty scary. And it’s hitting the younger kids here. What is it normally prescribed for? It has to be pretty widely used to be going around the way it is. I’ve just never heard of it before….

Its a drug they use for drug addicts to come down off of cocaine or crack. It makes people real hyped up like speed. They use this in rehab clinics to keep drug addicts from getting DT’s.
