I’ve been taking methadone for a long time, the precription isn’t mine tho. I’m trying to quit cold turkey, but it’s very hard and it’s only been 4 days.

there isn’t any set amount of time it takes to get off of it. you shouldn’t quit cold turkey, you should wean yourself off of it, otherwise you can get very sick and sometimes its so unbearable you may even have to go to the hospital. the easiest way to do it is to go to a detox center, sometimes they have them in hospitals, and a lot of the time insurance covers it. the longer you’ve been taking the methadone and the amount you’ve been taking at a time both have a say in how long it will take for you to get completely sober. did you know that methadone is more addicting than heroin?

I am on methadone maintenance aka mmr and I have gallstones. I went to the ER twice and both times as soon as they found out I was on methadone, it was like I had a contagious terminal illness. I haven’t yet received the proper care and I am in terrible pain. I need something to take for pain. Can anyone help me with the names of medications that will help me until my appointment with the surgery clinic. I AM MISERABLE!!!!

you can only take over the counter medications until you get a prescription from a medical doctor. Advil liquid capsules work very quickly on pain. I do not know if it will help what you are going through.
