Question by Gilly bean: nightmare about friend that died,Any ideas?
I had a friend recently pass away in July.. I didn’t find out until October, b/c her family didn’t know how to get a hold of me. She died the day after her 23 birthday, from an “accidental overdose.”( they found methadone along with 12 other drugs in her system) She was with her ex and “best friend” on her b-day. After her b/f saw her body. not only did she steal her purse she called her ex, and he came and got his daughter( whom he before had nothing to do with) and wouldn’t give her back to the family. So obviously this is really hard. I often have dreams about her, just visiting, which I like, they are very vivid and feel real. About a month ago I had an nightmare, which I unfortunatley cannot forget. During the entire dream I am very distraught and sobbing. I ask someone for something of hers, they dig her up and cut a piece of her hair and her ear and try to give it to me, I scream no, at another part i see her feet comming up from the ground.
at another part of the dream I am on a school bus( am 26) and around a lot of rowdy mean kids, and I see her kind of floating outside the window, I am sobbing still. I wake up feeling so awful.. why would i dream something so awful about someone I dearly love and miss?
I am also on trazodone, for insomnia, which can cause vivid reams, which i have always had anyway…    Read more...

Methadone is a prescription medication that is used to treat severe pain. It also helps those addicted to heroin to cease their use of the drug without experiencing horrendous withdrawal symptoms. Since heroin causes an excess of dopamine to be released into the brain, addicts feel a constant need for the drug to maintain this high. Methadone satisfies this need for an opiate without the euphoria associated with heroin. While users of methadone are ultimately transferring their dependence from one drug to another, they become more stable and no longer experience urgent impulses to take heroin. Methadone Overdose: Summer Hope’s Mother Sentenced To 2.5 Years

A Calgary mother has been sentenced for failing to provide the necessities of life to her daughter. Lisa Guerin will spend another six months in jail after her daughter, Summer Hope, died from a methadone overdose. Guerin and Jonathan Hope were found guilty of failing to provide the necessities of life for their 16-month-old daughter. In 2006, Summer died after drinking her father’s methadone. Guerin knew Summer had ingested the drug but left her with Hope to go to work in Rocky Mountain House. On Friday, Justice Earl Wilson sentenced Guerin to two-and-a-half years with a credit of two years for time served. The prosecutor is leaving the door open for an appeal. “The sentence would be a penitentiary term – but for time served – so with that it’s a mixed message for us today. We’ll obviously have to think hard and review the judge’s decision before going any further,” says Ken McCaffrey.
