Ok, so my friend got addicted to oxycontin;

now he can get 10 mg Methadone pills (people use methadone to get off opiates)

my question is:

If he takes 2 10mg methadone pills in 1 day (without using any other drugs); will he get sick or overdose?

(because I know that methadone causes more deaths than every drug combined)

I’ve always heard about methadone, but recently I’ve been hearing about buprenorphine as well. I was just wondering if there are any side effects, and if this is better than using methadone.

Ok here we go, it’s Florida again.Well Florida decides to ban the sale of methadone for the use of pain.When the history of methadone goes like this:It was made by the Germans for pain in world war I because the united states made morphine for pain during world war I and was not selling to Germany, of coruse not.This way we would win the war.So Germany didn’t have pain med.s for the war so German scientists made methadone for the German soldiers.And it was cheap to make and sell.Then I losse what happened next and when they started using it for addiction. But now Florida is banning the sale of methadone for pain.I’ve had 3 botched up back surguries and 3 hand surguries.And I’ve been living with pain since 1990 when I fell on a Florida construction job.I’ve been through all types of medication and even was on that oxycontin crap.But methadone is the only thing that has given me some what of a life back,for the l;ast 3 years.And I can afford it.I used to pay $450. amonth for oxycontin.

I took a drug test (urine type) today & tested positive for methadone. I have never used methadone, or any narcotics, or any illegal drugs. This was a screening done by a company that my company does work for. If I can’t pass, I can’t get onto that company’s property.

They sent my sample to a professional lab for a more thorough test. I also set up my own test with a professional lab, through my doctor. However, I probably won’t get any of these results back until Monday.

My employer knows me & trusts me. They believe me, but I need accurate results (i.e. clean test) for their peace of mind & mine.

I am currently on 4 perscriptions: Lipitor, Lisinopril, Synthroid, & Strattera. My doctor advised me that there have been (unsubstantiated) reports of Strattera showing up as amphetamines on drug tests, but he saw no reports of methadone results.

If you have a medical background, or have experienced something similar, please help me. Also, please, serious answers only.
