Question about methadone?

I have a question about how to get off methadone. I used to have a problem with pain meds (obviously), but anyways I know it is very difficult to get off of methadone. I have a theory on how to get off of it I just want to know if anyone has done this. I am on 100 Mg’s a day. I want to get back on suboxone but I know you are supposed to get down to like 20 mgs of methadone before you can make the switch over. What if I went cold turkey on the methadone and took pills just for like 2 weeks to avoid the withdrawl until the meth was out of me, then hop back on subs. Any input would be much appreciated.

I actually did the same thing. i was on 150mg of oxy a day for about 2 years and finally realized i needed help or i was going to end up dead or in jail. anyway, i went to the doctor and they said i need to stop taking the opiates and they tried to prescribe me some other medications that just didn’t work, so i got an appointment at the suboxone doctor and took percs just so i wouldn’t feel like shit while i waited for the appointment. its going to be tuff going from methadone to anything though, im sure you already know that though.. well good luck to you and stay clean and live life. take it easy
