Have you talked to your doctor or other helath care professional? You may need to have your doses tapered down rather than the cold turkey approach.

I applaud you! Thats not easy to do. Cold turkey, huh? The best thing to do to rid your pain is trying to do something (hobby), or take something, like a less addicting type and less potent type of medication. I cannot believe I am going to say this, but going cold turkey after a year of using Methadone is not safe nor is it healthy. Your doctor should have slowed the methadone prescription down and given you less potent pain meds as a substitute to help you weem yourself away from that addicting medication. My advice would be to use your hobbies to your advantage…perhaps find a friend and have a few drinks…DO whatever it is that defines you and that lets your mind wander pain free…I hope that helped!

You should taper down. In the mean time to to a pain management specailist and ask him for suboxone. I hear people have really good luck with that.
